The Caprivi strip of Namibia offers the perfect Africa Safari to any traveler, and has very similar features to Botswana’s Moremi and Okavango Delta, except that it costs a fraction of Botswana. Sitting in a luxury tented Chalet, overlooking a river, listening to the hippos and birds… taking a sunset cruise, and finding elephants, crocodiles, many different antelope, and of course the birds. If you are lucky, the roar of a lion and a sighting will absolutely ensure your trip!
The main thing about the Caprivi is that it is safe, it is affordable, and the people are really friendly! One of our favourite places is a visit to Sharwimbo River Camp, a luxury self-catering camp, with fantastic views and campsites too!
Sharwimbo River Camp rests on the banks of the Kwando River, in Namibia’s Caprivi Strip, and offers spectacular views of this wonderful Wetland with it’s abundance of birds and wildlife.
If you like camping without a tent, calm and quiet, nature… This is most certainly a place to visit. While this River Camp does not have a restaurant, every Chalet is fully kitted with a kitchenette and Fire Place, and the most wonderful views. A shop is approximately 30m away if you need anything. The most wonderous game drives can be taken by yourself o by the Camp’s Safari Vehicle, with 3 National Parks in close range.
The area boasts over 350 species of birds, and is close enough to do a day trip to Chobe River as well as Vic Falls while you are there! So much to do while you relax, get close to nature, and recharge! The Ultimate Getaway.
