First, Lets have a bit about the pageant:
The purpose of the Mrs Universe South Africa pageant is to offer South African women, married and divorced, an opportunity to reach a wider audience and to represent South Africa at the Mrs Universe Pageant. The pageant provides a platform for inspiration, mentoring, and empowerment, and contestants raise awareness for organizations that help victims of domestic abuse and violence.
In addition, the Mrs Universe South Africa pageant is about celebrating our women in the country. The newly crowned Mrs Universe South Africa will have an opportunity to compete at the Mrs Universe pageant, which is the largest pageant in the world for married and divorced women. Annually, contestants from 100 nations compete in this most renowned international pageant to win the coveted title.
The Mrs Universe South Africa Grand Semi-Final judging will be taking place in October 2023, where the Top Finalists will be announced.

We had a quick chat with Tersia, about her life, dreams and hopes. This lady is ever inspirational, and it has been a great privilege to hear her speak!
I am a Special Needs teacher at The Gateway School on the West Rand. I decided to enter the Mrs Universe South Africa pageant to enhance the platform and create awareness for children with disabilities. It has always been a dream of mine to be part of a pageant and to make a difference. With this journey I can enhance my self-confidence and support non-profit organisations in my community. I am partnered with The Cradle of Hope NPO in Krugersdorp. Their house of restoration is a safe haven and a place of empowerment for destitute, vulnerable and abused woman. I am raising funds and collecting products from their list of requirements to support this wonderful organisation. I have met some wonderful woman and can’t wait to walk this phenomenal and enriching journey with them. This journey is also a reminder that all woman needs to bloom in their own beauty. We are all different and we all have a story. It is important to not compare yourself and just be YOU.

I was born and raised in Roodepoort Gauteng and attended school in the area. After I matriculated I enrolled at Centurion Academy to study Cosmetology. I worked as a Hair stylist and make-up artist for two years then realized my passion is to work with children. I then enrolled at The University of Pretoria and completed a B.Ed. degree. My major subjects were isiZulu and Barriers to learning (Special Needs). I have been a Special Needs Educator for the last three years and I enjoy working with kids with different backgrounds and disabilities. In my opinion, I learn more from them than they do from me. My motto in teaching is No challenge too large and no victory too small.
I have been married for 7 years and was blessed with two beautiful little daughters ages 3 and 5. I like spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy taking my daughters on excursions over weekends such as movies, picnics and fishing.
My hobbies are organizing events such as birthday parties or any event requested. I like spending time in front of my sewing machine in order to create.
